Patapsco Heritage Greenway sponsored an English Ivy removal in partnership with the Tree Savers of Catonsville at the CCBC Catonsville campus on Sunday, September 28. With the help of 21 volunteers from Howard Community College, UMBC, Tree Savers of Catonsville, and other individuals, an astounding 580 pounds of English Ivy was removed from CCBC campus trees!

Special thanks to Alvera Winkler of the Tree Savers of Catonsville for helping PHG to lead this event and teaching our volunteers how to properly remove English Ivy.

Special thanks to the many groups that have represented this invasive removal including PHG members, UMBC and HCC students, Tree Savers of Catonsville, and other individuals who came to help! A special thanks to our PHG Stream Team members who helped lead other volunteers to a successful event including Pete McCallum, Jessica Cox, Tim Titus and Josh Marcus!

Everyone worked very hard to save these trees and we are very appreciative and proud of what our volunteers can do in a such amount of time. Great work!
